The Chairman of the Supreme Authority of the Yemeni Islah Party, Mr. Muhammad al-Yadumi, met today with the Ambassador of the Turkish Republic to Yemen, Mr. Levent Eeler.
During the meeting, the two sides have discussed the latest events on the Yemeni arena and the moves of the UN Envoy to Yemen, Mr. Martin Griffith, to hold consultations between the government and the coup militias.
The Chairman of the Islah Supreme Authority pointed out the adherence of Yemeni legitimacy and political forces, foremost of which is the Yemen Islah Party, with the three references for the sake of the political solution represented by Security Council Resolution No. 2216, the Gulf Initiative and the outcomes of the comprehensive National Dialogue Conference.
Al-Yadumi stressed that overthrowing the coup is the only way towards peace in Yemen. During his speech, al-Yadumi addressed the human tragedy suffered by a large proportion of the population, which was a direct result of the Houthi coup and what they are putting of obstacles in the way of relief efforts.
Al-Yadumi expressed his appreciation for the Turkish role in supporting the leadership and people of Yemen, stressing that these positions, which support the legitimacy and the relief efforts, in which Turkey contributes, will strengthen the relations between Turkey and Yemen.
For his part, Turkish Ambassador Levent Eeler renewed his country's support for the legitimate government and supporting the political process in accordance with the three references, leading to peace and stability in Yemen and the region.
Eeler also stressed his country's keenness to contribute to putting an end to human suffering by actively participating in relief efforts.
