The Gulf Cooperation Council affirms its support for legitimacy and a political solution in Yemen, according to the three references

The Supreme Council of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf reiterated its firm positions and decisions to support the legitimacy in Yemen, represented by His Excellency President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, President of the Republic and his government to end the Yemeni crisis and reach a political solution in accordance with the three references represented by the Gulf Initiative and its Executive Mechanism, the outcomes of the Comprehensive National Dialogue Conference and the Security Council resolution No. 2216, in a manner that preserves the unity and integrity of Yemen, respects its sovereignty and independence and rejects any interference in its internal affairs.

The final statement issued at the conclusion of the 42nd session of the Supreme Council of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, Tuesday evening, at the Al-Dar'iyah Palace in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, praised the continuous efforts made by the Sultanate of Oman in this regard, reiterating its support for the efforts of the United Nations led by its special envoy to Yemen Hans Grundberg and the efforts of the US special envoy to Yemen, Tim Lenderking, to reach a political solution according to those references.

The Supreme Council also renewed its call to the two parties to the Riyadh Agreement to complete the implementation of the remaining provisions of the Agreement, to provide support to the Yemeni government in carrying out its work, to create the atmosphere to support the Yemeni government in carrying out its work, to launch the development wheel in the liberated areas to achieve the aspirations of the brotherly Yemeni people, to restore security and stability to all parts of the country Yemen, strengthening its ability to restore the authority of the Yemeni state and its institutions in all parts of brotherly Yemen, emphasizing that the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement is the guarantee to unify the ranks of the various segments of the Yemeni people, spare bloodshed, bridge the rift between its components and support its march to restore its state, security and stability.

The Supreme Council welcomed the results of the Yemeni Gulf joint ministerial meeting held in Riyadh on September 16, 2021, stressing keenness to develop relations between them in all fields.

It expressed its condemnation of terrorist acts against civilians and civilian objects and political assassinations targeting Yemeni government officials to strike security and stability in the interim capital of Aden and the liberated Yemeni Governorates, stressing that these terrorist acts are directed against the legitimate Yemeni government and the brotherly Yemeni people with all its spectrums and political components.

And it expressed its welcome to the statement issued by the five permanent members of the Security Council on November 10, 2021, and its condemnation of the Houthi attacks against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the stress on the need to reduce the escalation and stop it immediately in Marib, in addition to calling for engaging in a real dialogue in order to reach a solution A comprehensive political solution to end the crisis in Yemen and alleviate the human suffering of its people.

It also welcomed the UN Security Council's inclusion of a number of leaders of the Iranian-backed terrorist Houthi militia on the sanctions list for their direct threat to peace, security and stability in Yemen, hoping that this would contribute to putting an end to their actions and supporters and neutralizing their danger from the brotherly Yemeni people, neighboring countries and international navigation.

It expressed its condemnation of the Iranian-backed Houthi militias continuing to obstruct the arrival of the United Nations technical team to conduct inspection and maintenance of the floating oil tank (Safir) in the Red Sea off the coast of Hodeidah, which could cause a serious environmental, economic and humanitarian disaster whose effects extend beyond Yemen if it continues. The Houthi militia refused the international community's pleas to allow the United Nations specialized technical team access to the tank.

And the Supreme Council of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf condemned Iran's continued interference in the internal affairs of the Republic of Yemen and the smuggling of military experts and weapons to the Houthi militia, in clear violation of Security Council Resolution 2216.

And it praised the achievements made by the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Action through its field branches in the Yemeni Governorates and the development projects implemented by the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen within the Yemeni governorates, as well as the humanitarian support provided by the Office for the Coordination of Relief and Humanitarian Aid provided by the Cooperation Council to the Republic of Yemen and what is provided by all countries Council of humanitarian and development aid to Yemen.

It noted the support of the GCC states for the United Nations humanitarian response plan in Yemen for the year 2021, amounting to 1.67 billion dollars, of which the GCC states provided more than 670 million dollars, (Saudi Arabia 430 million dollars, the UAE 230 million dollars and the State of Kuwait 10 million dollars).

It also praised the efforts of the Saudi project to clear mines (Masam) to clear the Yemeni lands of mines, which since its inception managed to remove more than 291,000 mines, ammunition and explosive devices randomly planted by the Houthi militia in the Yemeni Governorates, as well as the support provided by His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani - The Emir of the State of Qatar, represented by His Highness' donation of $90 million to Yemen through the World Food Program.
