Text of the statement

The National Alliance of the Political Parties and Components condemns the treacherous and cowardly act that targeted the military Al-Anad base on Sunday, August 29, 2021, which resulted in dozens of martyrs and wounded.

This criminal act comes at a time when peace efforts adopted by the United Nations and brotherly and friendly countries are being welcomed and credible by the legitimate government, which confirms that the Houthi group is the party that believes only in the language of violence and terrorism. All that this terrorist group is doing, represented by escalation on all fronts, has a clear and open goal, which is to extend Iran's influence in the region.

The National Alliance of the Political Parties and Components warns of the dangers posed by the high frequency of the Houthi attack on various fighting fronts, calling on all national formations to realize the reality and the extent of the Houthi threat targeting everyone without exception.

The National Alliance of the Political Parties and Components also demands the leadership of the legitimacy and the Arab Alliance supporting it to provide the necessary support to the forces of the national army and the popular resistance on all fronts, and pay the salaries of soldiers stationed on those fronts, to move seriously to confront the Houthi attacks and to break them and defeat them militarily, as this represents the first step to bringing peace to the country.

The National Alliance of the Political Parties and Components stresses the urgent completion of the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement, with its military, security and political parts, as stipulated in its clauses, in addition to the return of the government, parliament and all institutions to the interim capital, Aden.

Directing all the military forces fighting the Houthi rebellion towards the battle, unifying the efforts of the political forces, overcoming the differences and discrepancies between them in order to restore the state and end the Houthi coup.

The National Alliance of the Political Parties and Components also calls on the United Nations, all the international system, relevant organizations and the UN envoy to Yemen to understand the nature of the Houthi movement, its violent and extremist approach, its role and its position as a tool within the Iranian strategy in the region, and that it neither believes nor is keen on peace, nor will it accept it or seek it as long as it has military power.

The National Alliance of the Political Parties and Components calls for controlling the course of international movements and pressures in order to achieve comprehensive and lasting peace in Yemen in accordance with the agreed terms of reference and international resolutions related to Yemen, in particular Resolution No. 2216, and to ensure its realization.
