The National Initiative demanding the disclosure of Qahtan’s fate announced its categorical refusal to engage in any negotiations regarding the abducted and captives before the Houthi militias disclose the fate of the senior of the abducted and forcibly disappeared the political leader, Muhammad Qahtan.
In its statement published by the released journalist Abdul Khaleq Omran on his account on the (X) platform, the National Initiative said that the pressure of the United Nations, its UN envoy and his deputy to revive a new round of negotiations without implementing UN Resolution 2216, which obligates the terrorist Houthi militia to release the freedom fighter Muhammad Qahtan, is considered a disgrace to the United Nations and its office in Yemen, a blatant complicity with injustice and a complete bias against justice alongside this racist militia.
It called on the United Nations to respect its decisions, reminding it that Qahtan’s kidnapping took place while he was engaging in a political dialogue under the auspices of its former envoy, Jamal Ben Omar, in the capital, Sana’a, and this doubles its moral and legal responsibility towards the issue of Qahtan’s forced disappearance.
It renewed its call to the negotiating delegation of legitimacy, headed by Mr. Hadi Haij and the released kidnapped Yahya Kazman, not to yield to United Nations pressure and to declare their categorical refusal to negotiate before announcing Qahtan’s fate.
It called on all free people in the world and all human rights and humanitarian organizations and bodies to join the national initiative, support, advocacy, solidarity, condemnation, and pressure on all parties, especially the Houthi militia, which refuses to disclose Qahtan’s fate, as well as the UN envoy and his deputy, who are pressuring the legitimacy to resume negotiations without revealing the fate of Muhammad Qahtan disappeared for nearly ten years.
The national initiative demanding the disclosure of Qahtan’s fate before the Amman negotiations consists of the abducted persons released from the prisons of the racist Houthi militia, the Association of Mothers of the Abductees and the family of the freedom fighter Muhammad Qahtan.
