Monday 07 January 2019 / Al-Islah.net - Exclusive

At the end of 2014, the Yemeni capital of Sana'a was threatened to be invaded again by the Imamate, and then the crowds of Yemenis from all the forces went out in the national alignment to face the return of the priesthood, but the remarkable thing that attracted the attention at that time was the large and unexpected crowds witnessed by the city of Dhamar in support of the national alignment and confirm preserving the republic, unity, democracy and implementing the outputs of the national dialogue.

On that day, the Houthi's lordliness was at its height and this lordliness was provoking the people of Yemen. Crowds of demonstrators spread from the entrance of the northern city of Dhamar to the south of the city in a single mass rally that undertakes to defend the republican, protect the people's gains, revolution and stand united against groups of violence, terrorism and armed militias that try to impose their goals by force of arms and political extortion.

The Islahis in Dhamar were at the forefront of the peaceful struggle against the return of the despicable imamate, raising slogans of renunciation of racism and sectarianism. But the Houthi militias focused on Dhamar to make it a center for their leadership instead of Saada. They chose Dhamar because of the importance of its location as an outlet to the south towards Taiz and Aden, and to the southeast towards al-Baidha, based on the saying "Dhamar is the chair of Zaydism", which the sons of Dhamar proved the mistake of this saying.

The Houthis looked at Dhamar as a human resource that could provide them with large numbers of fighters, while the Republicans were following in the footsteps of the liberals of the 26 September Revolution in the face of myth. Dhamar is the Hamyari city, which begeted the martyr al-Muashiki , who fought the Imamate, al-Warith, Ali bin Naji al-Qawsi, as well as the Republic pioneers such as al-Baraduni, Alhidrani and Ahmad Salameh. Dhamar still provide Yemen with the liberals who refused to return the imamate again.

When the Houthis exploited the harsh conditions in some areas of the governorate south of the capital Sana'a and spread their dark ideas in the remote areas where ignorance was waning, the people of the governorate were jostleing to form a national front resisting the destructive coup of Houthi. The Islahis in Dhamar were at the forefront of the resistance since the first day, offering many martyrs in the defense of Amran and stood bravely against the overthrow of the capital.

The Islahis in the path of resistance

Thousands of the people of the governorate, most of them are members of the Yemeni Islah Party, joined the ranks of the popular resistance since its inception in the face of the Iranian Houthi invasion. They then joined the ranks of the national army. They stuck together with the army elements on the fronts of Marib starting from Nihm to Sarwah. They made great sacrifices in the battle the restoration of the state and the liberation of Yemen from the coup militia.

In mid-December 2015, the Dhamar Resistance Council was formed, and the youth of the Islah presented the finest heroic epics in order to defend the homeland and its security and stability. They made great sacrifices on all fronts to eliminate the coup militias. They joined to the Arabism brigades in Saada and al-Jawf, Dhamar pivot, al-Majd brigade and 'Utuma battalions, pledging to work with all legitimate means to liberate the governorate from the Houthi militias and to restore legitimacy and state institutions.

Constellation of martyrs

In the battles for the restoration of the state and the preservation of the Republic, the sons of Dhamar, and in the forefront of them the members of the Islah Party sacrificed with their lives, where hundreds of them were martyred and we cannot calculate them in this subject.

Among the martyrs are the Islahi leader Saleh Akrout and five of his comrades who martyred in the battles of the liberation of western Marib in 2015, as well as the martyr Saleh al-Mushiki and Amin Shaaban. These all are young leaders of the Islah Party in Dhamar.

In 2016, the martyr leader Ali bin Ali al-Asoudi, Saleh Faqas, and dozens of Islah youth and its men have resisted the Imamate brutal invasion.

In Dhamar, the Houthi terrorist militias targeted the leaders and cadres of the Islah Party with barbaric assassinations. On April 23, 2016, the Islahi leader Hassan al-Yaeri was assassinated by the militia in front of his house. Al-Yaeri was kidnapped and hidden earlier with a number of Islah leaders in the governorate in April 2015, and then released through tribal pressure.

The martyr al-Yaeri was martyred, and he is the veteran leader, where political life has lost a tolerant man and a politician who enjoyed the respect and appreciation of his opponents as well as his loved ones, then the Houthi criminal acts continued, targeting the leaders and personalities of the Islah Party in the governorate because they were resisting the return of the imamate.

On August 15, 2016, Houthis assassinated the Islahi leader Sheikh Saleh al-Anhami, a member of the Islah Party's Shura Council inside his car. Only two days later, Houthi's militia assassinated the Islahi leader Sheikh Wahib al-Kamel, imam and preacher of the al-Nour mosque in the city of Dhamar, in front of his mosque after evening prayers. By the end of March of that year, the militias assassinated Sheikh Ali Saeed al-Ansi, a sheikh of the Directorate of Maghrib Anas and a member of the Shura Council of the Islah Party in the governorate, in front of his house north of Dhamar.

The crimes of assassinations of the Islahi leaders in Dhamar did not stop. On August 11, 2017, the Houthis assassinated the educational figure and one of the symbols of charitable work in the governorate the martyr Abdul Razzaq al-Sarari, head of the Islah Party branch in the Directorate of al-Hada by an explosive device placed near his home in his village, while he was going to perform Asr prayer.

The Islahis of Dhamar still make sacrifices in the battle for state restoration. Many young men and cadres of the Islah have been seriously injured, while the homes of many of them have been blown up, stormed the headquarters of the Islah and the confiscation of its property, as well as the property of many of its members. Many young people, cadres, activists and journalists of the Islah Party were kidnapped and disappeared in the Houthi coup camps. Perhaps the heinous crime, Massacre of Harran, committed by the Houthi militias, in which the militias took the detainees as human shields, the two Islahi journalists, Abdullah Qabel and Yousef al-Aizari, have martyred, in addition to the myrtyr leader in the Islah Party Amin al-Rajawi. Houthi's secret prisons are still full of Dhamar's liberals, the majority of whom are Islahis.

The Epic of 'Utuma

From the mountains and hills of the Directorate of 'Utuma, the Islahis have joined with the rest of the Directorate in the great tournaments in every geography of 'Utuma with their own potential against the possibilities of a state controlled by the militias. The leaders and members of the Islah Party in 'Utuma joined its resistance led by the leader of the General People's Congress Abdul Wahab Ma'udhah to face the imamate, raising the slogan "Death with dignity nor life with cringe", offering the greatest sacrifices and the most beautiful images of redemption to defend the Republic.

Today, the 'Utuma Brigades represent one of the pillars of the national army in Marib. While the sons of Dhamar waging battles of the liberation and the restoration of the state in the front of Sarwah, which mocked the faces of the Houthi coup, pledging to begin military operations in the axis of Dhamar and free the governorate from the control of militias for the return of its children.
