The deputy head of the Information and Culture Department of the Yemeni Islah Party, Mr. Adnan al-Audayni, said that the revolutionary achievement of the Glorious 14th of October Revolution led to the transfer of Yemen from a torn land to a country able to define itself as liberated from the will of the alliance of local and foreign occupation.

In a post published on Thursday evening on his official Facebook account on the occasion of the 59th anniversary of the October 14 Revolution, Al-Adini added, “The October 14 Revolution broke out against a reality in which our country was being divided between two parties hostile to it and seeking to keep it on the margins of history away from its movement and its development.” He continued: Between scattered sultanates at home and an external occupation authority, Yemen found itself in a trap that tried with all its might to take it out of its historical context and gave it a strange, disconnected identity instead of its true identity and history. Al-Audayni confirmed that the October 14 Revolution broke out to expel the occupation, overthrow the policy of dependency and install factors of independence and self-stability.

He pointed out that Yemen before the revolution was living in complete darkness under the title of the Imamate in the north and sultanates in the south. These two authorities, supported from abroad, aimed to prevent this ancient country from living its historical moment with all the effectiveness that it entails, and they sought to deprive it of its natural right to make decisions that are commensurate with its historical heritage. Al-Audayni made it clear that to the extent that Sana’a fulfilled its promise of a revolution that overthrew an internal occupier and declared the republic, which represented the first pillar of the Yemeni state and the idea that liberated man and transferred him from a pastoral dependent to a decent citizen, Aden gave Yemen the other pillar of the state when the one Yemen was established, which is the antithesis of colonialism, bringing the spirit of Yemen after a long absence. He noted that Yemen, through the two revolutions, began formulating its own equation and inaugurated the project of a state of citizenship that extends over all the land and expresses all the people as a central issue that dominated the era of the two revolutions and their aftermath until this moment. Al-Audayni verified that the 14th October Revolution will continue to stoke the spirit of sacrifice and struggle, adding, "We have repeatedly made revolutions and failed to make the state, which makes it remain a struggle issue that is passed down from generations in a continuous face of difficulties and challenges."
