Islah Party.. An active role in the political consensus and unification of ranks to confront the coup

Tuesday 26 April 2022 / alislah-ye.net - Exclusive

The nature of the current stage that the country is being witnessed requires that all Yemeni components rally around the goal of restoring the state and ending the Houthi coup and Iranian influence in Yemen. And for that, the Yemeni Islah Party has remained supportive of all steps and measures aimed at unifying the national ranks and achieving political consensus among the various components of the Republican rank. And in its ensuring to do so, the Islah Party stems from the fact that the absurd differences and divisions between the components of the Republican rank are the lung through which the Houthis and Iran breathe in Yemen, and therefore the continuation of these differences and divisions are nothing but free gifts to the coup militia.

And during recent days, the Yemeni Islah Party has blessed the formation of the Presidential Leadership Council, consisting of eight members, and the Party's leaders had an active role in the meetings and procedures that came after the announcement of the formation of the Presidential Leadership Council, and the source of this support comes from the fact that the formation of the Council took place after conducting consultation and consensus among the Yemeni components and the support of brothers in the Arab Alliance supporting the legitimacy. And the goals behind the formation of the Council were specific and clear, and they centered around restoring the state, ending the war and the coup and putting the ball in the Houthis’ court, either they initiate dialogue and resolving the crisis through a political settlement or resort to the military option to end the rebellion, coup and bring peace to the country.

The Islah Party and the option of restoring the state:

The Yemeni Islah Party had been quick to carry out its national duty to defeat the coup and restore the state since the Houthi militia’s coup against the state and the intervention of the Arab brothers led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to protect Yemen from falling into the Persian influence and Tehran’s attempt to extract Yemen from its Arab surroundings to become a source of concern that threatens the national security of neighboring countries in order the terrorist sectarian militias loyal to Iran to be free to do what they wanted in the region. And although the Islah Party was aware from the first moment that its support for the operation of Al-Hazm Storm would open the gates of the putschists' hell against it, especially since a large number of its leaders were - and still are - in the prisons of the coup militia, but it preferred to sacrifice in order to restore the state, end the coup, refusing to the putschists' blackmail and their offers to it in return for declaring its rejection of the military intervention of the Arab Alliance to support the legitimacy.

The Islah Party is concentrating all its efforts to restore the state, and it believes that this is a sacred mission and that it is a common cause for all Yemenis, and that other divisions, disagreements or inaction in the national battle to restore the state or media wrangling, are pouring in the interest of the Houthi militia, giving them more time to booby-trapping new generations and spread the culture of terrorism through falsifying school curricula, sectarian courses, combat mobilization and giving the leader of the terrorist militia holiness, and describing him with misleading descriptions in order to deceive simple people and push them to the war fronts to fight in the ranks of the militia and deceive them that fighting their Yemeni brothers is really fighting against America and Israel and that it is jihad for the sake of the God.

Since the Houthi militia sees all Yemenis as its enemies, and that it alone has the right to monopolize the power and wealth of the country, and seeks to exclude everyone from political participation and deprive them of the most basic rights, the Islah Party believes that this requires all Yemeni components to unite their ranks and cast aside their differences, especially all differences are subject to discussion and resolved quietly, because the common ground between the various Yemeni components that reject the Houthis are enough to remove these differences, and most of them are based on illusions, especially that with the state of the broad partnership of all components in power, the differences or divisions seem as if they are absurd or formal differences, and and they do not rise to the level of hostility, but its deadly effect lies in the fact that they prolong the life of the coup and allow the penetration of Iranian influence in Yemen, and this negatively reflects everyone and pose an existential threat to the state itself.

The importance of political consensus:

As usual, the Yemeni Islah Party is always one of the first to rally around any step aimed at achieving political consensus among the various components of the Republican rank, because this is one of the most important national priorities at the current stage. The race is a race of sacrifice and national struggle, and political consensus is the key to unifying ranks and ending the coup and the abnormal situation caused by the terrorist Houthi militia because it is a project of death, fighting, secret prisons, racist, dynastic and sectarian, and it is impossible to coexist with them. There is no common ground between the militia and the various components of Yemeni society that can be built upon to achieve sustainable peace, because it does not believe in partnership, political and partisan pluralism, and does not believe in the peaceful transfer of power.

In fact, it does not seem that the differences between the components of the Republican rank rise to the level that deserves to be debated, but the length of the war and the failure of all fronts to move simultaneously to end the coup and restore the state suggests that the differences are the reason behind this, and therefore the political consensus must turn into a reality on the ground, because the Houthi militia can only yield to peace under a mighty military pressure that makes it feel that its defeat is inevitable, and it cannot hold out forever. Rather, if its front fortifications collapse, its elements in the back lines will collapse morally and flee from the confrontation, and then the components of the Republican rank will realize that the Houthi militia is fragile and weak and that it derives its survival from the failure of the other parties against it. And if it had enough power to swallow up Yemen, it would not hesitate for a moment, but it would impose its control in the space left to it.

The Islah Party’s keenness on political and national consensus is embodied by the role of its leaders in the related movement, especially the recent formation of a Presidential Leadership Council, its constant call for reunification, restoring the state and alleviating the suffering of citizens. And the Islah Party is always keen to make its media discourse directed towards giving the battle of restoring the state special importance, educating citizens about the danger of the terrorist Houthi militia and ignoring the black quarrels and propaganda that it receives from parties and individuals who serve the Houthi coup in one way or another.

- The position of principle on the coup:

Whoever contemplates the political performance of the Yemeni Islah Party since the beginning of the coup and the war until this day, will find that this political performance reflects its principled position rejecting the Houthi coup and its keenness to restore the state, and it believes that political consensus and unification of ranks is an urgent national necessity that must be constantly worked on because that is the only way to restore the state, restore its fractured entity, and restore respect to the Yemeni self. While the marginal differences that occur between the national components can be resolved simply after removing the danger that threatens the entire region, not just Yemen because Iran’s expansionist ambitions will not stop at a certain limit if it finds an easy road ahead and there is no one to return it and return its militias to their normal size.

And the Islah Party had warned early on of the danger of the Houthi militia before it took control of the capital, Sana’a and others, and it was among the first to confront the coup, the first initiator to support the legitimate authority, one of the first Yemeni components to announce their support for the operation of the Al-Hazm Storm and one of the first to call for unification the Republican rank and overcoming the differences between the national components in order to end the war and the coup and to resume the political process according to the outcomes of the Comprehensive National Dialogue Conference, which laid out an integrated road map for the broad participation in power, the equitable distribution of the country’s wealth and the transit of the homeland to safety.
