Text of the statement

Under difficult living conditions, raging and ever-increasing prices, and the continuous deterioration of the value of the Yemeni riyal, all of this turned the lives of Yemenis into hell. Crowds of citizens in Taiz have come out to express their protest against the grievous high prices, where the government did not pay the slightest attention to, but rather surrendered to it and turned its back on its people and citizens, as if the matter did not concern it, neither from near nor from afar.

Our heroic Yemeni people have chosen the path of struggle to overthrow and defeat the Houthi coup, and with historical courage, they have decided to bear the exorbitant bill for this choice by offering sacrifices after another to get rid of this nightmare on their chest. This position was worthy of prompting the government to give the people the appreciation they deserve by providing services in the liberated areas, improving the living conditions of citizens, and preserving the value of the national currency and protecting it from collapse.

The Yemeni Islah Party in Taiz Governorate, which has issued numerous statements and appeals to the government since the beginning of the currency deterioration, in which it called for urgent and adequate arrangements to relieve the burdens that have befallen on the citizen and brought with it to an unbearable extent, it clearly stands to besides the citizens' demands, calling on the government to quickly assume its responsibility and quickly take the necessary treatments that would alleviate the suffering of the citizens and their difficult living situation. We also see that serious measures start from the point of the government's return to the homeland and the exercise of its work from the interim capital or in one of the liberated Governorates so that it is close to the battle of liberation, the suffering of the people and the issues of the homeland.

At a time when the Yemeni Islah Party in Taiz Governorate supports peaceful demands, to put an end to the deterioration of the national currency and the rise in prices, it calls on citizens to maintain their peaceful form, express their demands in a classy manner, and be vigilant and wary of those who try to exploit legitimate protests to commit acts that offend the city of Taiz or attack the property of citizens and force the shops to close, and they paralyze the movement because all these actions multiply the suffering of the citizen.

They should also be aware and confront all those who want to divert the course of the protest or use it in favor of certain agendas away from the real goal related to living issues that concern all citizens.

We also call on citizens to be vigilant and work as a cohesive society to protect Taiz and its stability and to stand in the face of all those who try to exploit the difficult situation to pass on hostile slogans that destabilize public tranquility, in implementation of the agenda and projects lurking in the governorate.

The Yemeni Islah Party reiterates that the Houthi coup and its militias are the basis for all the calamities of Yemen and Yemenis, as well as the wars, aches and deprivations they are exposed to. This is what made the people today fight on two fronts; The front to confront the obscurantist project affiliated with the Iranian-backed Houthi priesthood and the front of the struggle for a livelihood that the government abandoned and did not pay any attention to, as it is also its negative and ineffective role in the battle of liberation and the overthrow of the coup

At the same time, we call and remind the brothers in the Arab Alliance of their fraternal responsibility towards Yemen in such difficult economic and living conditions that Yemen and Yemenis are going through at a time when we are waging with the Arab Alliance led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia a single national battle to confront a common danger.

We also call on the political leadership and the government to exert more pressure to operate the ports and economic facilities and re-export, in a manner conducive to curbing and overcoming the economic deterioration and alleviating the suffering of our people as a result of these successive crises.
