Islah and State Issues: The role of Islah in preserving the Yemeni Unity (1)

Friday 28 December 2018 / Al-Islah.net - Exclusive

An introduction:

There are disagreements on some issues, and these disagreements develops into a split, often because of a fundamental reason or lack of knowledge in the classification and confusion of issues, the most controversial issues that need consensus, which do not endure arguments, disagreement, dialogue, negotiation and bargaining, that are the issues related to the State and its firm logic and postulates without which there would have been no State at all.

When these issues are not known or ignored, political elites are the root cause of weakening and undermining the state. And this is a deeply rooted problem and part of the behavior of the political parties and forces and the power itself.

Universal constants:

There are universal constants related to the state, and postulates that are not subject to discussion, and do not put for dialogue, negotiation or bargaining. And by the existence of these constants the States were existed, when there are questions about them or there are forbearance with what is contrary to them, then it is the beginning of the end of the state, which work to weak it and then necessarily undermined. The universal constants are applicable to any state, whatever its system is, whether it is monarchy, republican, pluralism or the one-party system. And there are special constants related to the state, such as the nature of the system which is compatible with the nature of the country, such as republicanism, pluralism and civilization.

Islah and the unity of the state:

Of the State-related postulates, that it is one State, which does not allow any question on its unity, and no individual, group or party to dare to call for sectarianism, regionalism or separation. Calls like these are considered a criminal taboo, and the State represented by the Authority must be immune to such calls and it has to get rid of these calls at their beginning. Without the rigor in dealing with the unity of the state, the state will fade. Thus, any one state becomes small entities, in the sense that it becomes torn apart and cannot be described as a state.

The Yemeni Islah Party considers the unity of the state is one of its constants, which does not accept skepticism or controversy. At the same time that forces, organizations and groups have taken part in the promotion of what is against the unity of the state, especially the Houthi group, which built its bases on the dismantling of the Yemeni state. This group declared more than one time about its understanding with the separatists, and there were many events gathered them in the southern suburb of the Lebanese capital Beirut, as well as the statements of Muhammad Abdel Salam on self-determination.

The fact is that Houthi, despite its cross-boundary slogans, but at the same time it is a separatist group. And it realizes that its control of the north gives all areas that do not subject to their control, to be motivated for separation, because the horizon of this group is sectarian and regional horizon. This group considers regions such as Taiz must be controlled, while at the same time to prevent the citizens of Taiz from any activity and also prevent them from any employment in other governorate. Abu Ali al-Hakim said clearly two years ago in Dhamar that the defeat in Taiz would mean being the director in Saada from Taiz and Tihama.

It is clear that even Taiz and Tihama, both from the (former) northern part, are unacceptable in the State of the regional and sectarian Houthi.

Houthism is a separatist group limited in the north of the north, and even in the north of the north regions it is a minority.

In its behavior, the Houthism is a a movement of the Yemeni State dismantlement. Perhaps the important evidence is its withdrawal from Aden and its surroundings and stopping at the former border in Taiz, Damt and al-Baidha. Despite its defeat and its withdrawal from the al-Makha and other areas, it does not allow just a question, why? For a very simple and very complex reason (The master) is the right and the holy. If the master handed all the country over to the foreign occupation, it is the right in the point of view of his followers.

There is a peaceful and then armed movement, political forces are part of the composition of it. Political parties joined to Houthism or have divided between Houthi and legitimacy, so the Islah remains the only Yemeni political party committed to the unity of the Yemeni state that rejects all calls against it, and this is good for it, and it is a distinctive mark records in its biography.

The wise people of the world work for the preservation of their countries' interests, even if they lose a lot for that, because there is nothing to discourage them from upholding the constants of their country and the national unity of their peoples.
