Al-Houthi militias kill civilians with toxic gas in Beit al-Faqih in Hodeidah

In an unprecedented crime, the Houthi militias killed civilians in the Directorate of Beit al-Faqih in Hodeidah governorate in western Yemen with toxic gas, resulting in casualties, and then they kidnapped paramedics.

Local sources in the governorate of Hodeidah said that five civilians were killed due to a toxic gas in the village of al-Mahd northeast of the Directorate of Beit al-Faqih, after a rocket attack launched by the coup Houthi militia, on the village yesterday, and as a result of this attack dozens of animals died.

The sources confirmed that the rocket launched by the Houthi militias did not explode after falling near the house of a citizen, but residents of the neighborhood were suffocated, killing five of them, while dozens were rescued.

Witnesses said they saw the owner of the house, where the rocket landed next to, Hussein Mughatraf, his wife and 14-year-old son, in addition to two girls who died, their bodies were bluish as a result of the gas emitted from the rocket. Also they saw dead cattle near the house.

Eyewitnesses confirmed that dozens of residents were suffocated immediately after the rocket fell and have been taken to the hospital and still receiving treatment until now. And there are people with serious conditions.

A medical source at Beit al-Faqih Hospital said that five bodies from the village of Al-Mahd arrived at the hospital. The source explained that the bodies belong to the family of Hussein Mughatraf and that the family members suffered severe suffocation due to poison gas similar to mustard gas.

The sources confirmed that the Houthi militia launched a campaign of arrests, including 18 people from paramedics who took the victims to the hospital of the city of Beit al-Faqih in addition to the arrest of the relatives of the victims.

Residents say that the Houthi militias quickly confiscated the phones of all residents of the village, fearing of leaking the pictures of the victims who died as a result of toxic gases due to the Houthi rocket attack on the village.
