The National Commission of Inquiry has monitored 530 cases of violation during the past two months

Over the past two months, the National Commission of Inquiry into allegations of human rights violations has said it has conducted about monitoring, documentation and investigation of 530 cases of various violations, of these, 233 cases targeting of civilians, killing 311 civilians, including 31 women and 93 children, in addition to the killing of 30 civilians by the cultivation of individual mines and explosive devices.

In its statement, the Committee reported that 157 cases of arbitrary detention had been monitored and investigated, 13 cases of child recruitment, 26 extrajudicial killings, and the destruction of 64 private civilian facilities, the bombing of 6 houses and the forced displacement of 26 families.

On the field-visits level, the National Commission of Inquiry reported that its teams have visited different areas in the directorates of the governorate of Hodeidah such as Hays, Duraihimi, Tahaita and Khukha. During these visits, the teams met with a number of victims of mine and the various shelling of residential communities. These teams heard eyewitnesses talked about the incidents, as well as the viewing of effects of the shelling on the houses.

According to the statement, the Commission's researchers also visited the directorate of Khab wa Ashaaf in Al-Jawf governorate — north of the country, viewed the areas of individual mine explosion on a number of civilians and listened to victims and eyewitnesses.

In the governorate of Taiz located in the center of the country, the team visited the directorate of Maqbana and listened to the victims of forced displacement and shelling of houses with artillery shells and the view of projectiles and damage caused by these incidents, in addition to the visit of the two directorates of Mokha and al-Wazi'ya, in which the Commission's researchers conducted meetings and listening to a number of victims and eyewitnesses.

The National Commission of Inquiry renewed its call to civil society organizations working throughout the Republic of Yemen to cooperate with it and provide it with information and data on victims of violations in all governorates. The Commission hoped that all parties would facilitate the access of their observers and investigators to the locations of violations in all regions so that they could carry out their tasks to the fullest.
