A report by the Human Rights Information and Training Center (HRITC) documented 135 violations in January committed by the Houthi militia in Taiz governorate, which resulted in dozens of deaths and injuries.
HRITC reported that its field team documented the deaths of 23 civilians, including 5 women and 7 children, where two women were killed by sniping, and 60 civilians were killed by mines and improvised explosive devices planted by the militias.
The HRITC recorded 66 civilians, including 6 women and 11 children, by sniper fire, artillery shells and improvised explosive devices.
During the first week of February 2019, The Saudi Project for Landmine Clearance in Yemen "Masam" belonging to the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center cleared 13 antipersonnel mines, 257 anti-vehicle mines, 8 improvised explosive devices and 300 unexploded ammunition, totaling 578 mines.
It should be noted that the total number of mines cleared since the beginning of the project amounted to 41,591 mines planted by the rogue Houthi militias in the territories, schools, and homes in Yemen. The Houthi militias tried to hide these mines in various shapes, colors and methods that resulted in the killing, wounding and amputation of organs of a large number of children, women and the elderly.
