At a press conference and a hearing for forced disappearance victims, organized by the organization of Shohood for Human Rights, the human rights defender Radwan Masoud - is one of the abducted who was released from the Houthi prisons - revealed that the abducted in the Houthi militia's prisons were subjected to torture with its all kinds, and he said that all orders issued by the Houthi militias regarding kidnapping, concealment and torture are carried out under the supervision of Iranian elements, pointing out that the recent events witnessed by Iran as a result of Soleimani's death showed the extent of the Houthis' dependence on Iran.

He is a political and human rights activist and head of the Sana'a University Student Union. He was kidnapped by the Houthi group and released from the Houthi prisons. Masoud had been kidnapped by the Houthi militia twice since they invaded the capital, Sanaa. His last kidnapping was on October 11, 2016, when he and his children were on their way to the school near the Attorney General’s Office in the Madhbah area in the capital, Sanaa.

The Houthi militia had hidden him for a whole year in a secret prison in Sanaa, and his family did not know anything about his fate or the side that he was transferred to until he went out in exchange for Houthi conditions, which is to stay at home and communicate with the Houthi supervisor in the area every 48 hours

How did he get rid of the Houthis' grip?

The head of the Sanaa University Student Union, Radwan Masoud, narrated the story of his kidnapping by the Houthis in October 2016 for the second time and how to hide him in a secret prison in Sana'a for a full year.

He said that he was only released after he pledged to the Houthis in a video clip that he will be committed to staying in his home in Sanaa, and that if he was caught while trying to escape, the Houthi militia would have the right to kill him with his family and children, in addition to the conditions imposed on him to be in contact with them every 48 hours.

Masoud and his family managed to get out of the capital, Sana'a, to areas controlled by the legitimacy via camouflaging and escape, for fear that he would be arrested by the Houthis again.

Houthi crimes do not need eyewitnesses

Thousands of civilians in Houthi-controlled areas are subjected to kidnapping and enforced disappearance. Radwan Masoud said that the militias of the Houthi coup are a well-known group and the whole world is witnessing its crimes and all the divine laws, international humanitarian law, international treaties and agreements that stipulate human rights proving that they are a criminal gang devoid from all moral and religious values and principles.

Old disease

Radwan Masoud said that thousands of abducted, detained and arbitrarily hidden people live in the prisons of the Houthi militias without the most basic health rights guaranteed to them by law.

Masoud continues his talk about the violations through which the forcibly hidden people are subjected to, saying: "I was a witness to the violations, where the Houthis are carrying out all these crimes because they have the conviction and beliefs that they are the best. They have claims of preference and the divine right to rule. There is a shortcoming in informing the public opinion regarding this aspect." He added: "The Houthis resort to bombing homes, kidnappings and murders and violating the sanctities because they believe that they have the absolute right to carry out these crimes and violations that come according to Iranian directives."

He continued, "The false belief used by the Houthis has led them to practice all kinds of violations and crimes. By committing these crimes, kidnapping the opponents, killing and looting, the Houthis believe that they are fighting for the sake of God," pointing out that the Houthis target all of the Yemeni people and that all the practices of the militias loyal and supported by Iran are an old disease called the Imamate, which Yemenis have suffered from in the past centuries and which left poverty, disease and ignorance, and this is what happens in their areas of control.

Who manages the kidnapping processes, disappearances and torture?

In a hearing for forced disappearance victims held by the organization of Shohood for Human Rights, Radwan Masoud revealed that the party that runs the Houthi kidnapping processes is a Houthi administration called the Security Department that received its training in Beirut and Tehran. This department is supervised by experts from Iran.

When will the Houthi crimes end?

He explained that the Houthi militias cannot stop their crimes unless there are no directives from Iran, which runs all of their activities.

The Iranian Houthi gang represents a threat to the security and stability of the region and has demonstrated its loyalty to Iran after the killing of Qassem Soleimani at the beginning of the New Year.

He emphasized that the Houthi militias force the abducted to false confessions, stressing that all the confessions that the Houthi militias publish in its media about the abducted at their prisons are all false and extracted by torture and threats.

Why is the population restricted?

In a press conference and a hearing for forced disappearance victims, Radwan Masoud stressed that the Houthi militias practice all kinds of violations to evacuate the areas they control from their opponents and from the voices that contradict them and stand against its sabotage project, and added that the Houthi militias do not accept anyone and in their prisons there are a lot of Yemenis from various Political components and parties, describing them as more deadly and dangerous for Yemen than any other enemy.

Masoud concluded his speech by saying, "I was released in late 2017 in exchange for not leaving my home in Sanaa and fulfilling the Houthi conditions imposed on me and to be in contact with them." In the event that Massoud violates these conditions, the Houthis will kill him and his children, according to the conditions of the Houthis.
