Mr. Salem Al-Saqqaf, head of the Executive Office of the Yemeni Islah Party in Al-Mahra Governorate, said that November 30 is the 56th anniversary of independence and it comes at a time when the country needs to unify political forces and work in the spirit of one team in order to overcome obstacles.

In a statement to the alislahy-ye.net website, al-Saqqaf called for preserving the gains of the October 14 and September 26 revolutions, which were the reason for achieving victory over British colonialism and the tyrannical Imamate regime.

He pointed out that Yemenis today, from the south of the country to the north, are celebrating the anniversary of independence as a culmination of the struggles and heroism of liberals and fighters who made sacrifices to achieve freedom.

The Head of the Executive Office of the Al-Mahra Islah Party confirmed that the Yemeni people are waiting for the political components and the Leadership of the Presidential Council to restore the remaining Governorates that are under the control of the Houthi coup, work to activate state institutions again, and address the economic collapse.

In conjunction with this anniversary of the evacuation, al-Saqqaf also called on the southern political components to unite ranks and preserve Yemeni unity, which is considered one of the most important national gains for which the Yemenis made great sacrifices.

He called on the people of Al-Mahra Governorate and the political forces to stand side by side with the local authority and help it maintain state institutions, and distance the Governorate from polarization, conflict, and calls for fragmentation so that the Governorate remains a role model for security, stability, and the unity of its social fabric.
