Al-Babikri: The continuation of the abduction of Qahtan is to take all political forces as a target

The deputy head of the Political Department of the Yemeni Islah Party in Shabwa Governorate, Mr. Yaslam al-Babikri, emphasized that the insistence on proceeding with the crime of hiding Mr. Muhammad Qahtan for the eighth year in a row is confirmation that criminality is an inherent behavior in the Houthi group that committed all crimes against the people of Yemen.

In a statement to alislah-ye.net website, al-Babikri considered the crime of concealment as one of those crimes that this group has taken as its profession without regard to the human and moral dimension.

Al-Babkari said that it is self-evident that the Houthi group is responsible for the crime of kidnapping and disappearing Qahtan, and it bears full responsibility for this crime.

He made it clear that Qahtan is a political figure who carries a collective spirit, and he was able to establish for national projects on which political forces gather, where he was a man of dialogue and consuns, considering that this spirit is completely contradictory to a group that has no project other than creating division and ethnic and sectarian segregation of society, and that its culture is based on violence and death.

On the eighth anniversary of the abduction of Qahtan, al-Babikri stressed that there are responsibilities that cannot be neglected, the first of which is before the leadership of the state at all levels, not to be complacent in dealing with the issue of concealing Qahtan as a pivotal issue with its political and humanitarian dimension, and to put it before any understandings that take place.

He also called on the national forces to take a position of loyalty to a figure who had a pivotal role in establishing the rules of political and civil action.

Al-Babikri confirmed that the crime of hiding Qahtan is targeting all national forces. On this basis, taking a firm stand by the various national forces requires exerting more pressure in order to reveal the fate of Muhammad Qahtan and all the disappeared and abducted persons and to promptly release them.

Eight years have passed since the racist Houthi militia abducted and disappeared the man of dialogue and politics and one of the most prominent political and patriotic figures in Yemen, a member of the Supreme Authority of the Yemeni Islah Party, Mr. Muhammad Qahtan, where he was abducted on April 5, 2015.

Qahtan is still hidden by the Houthi militia, despite the issuance of the Security Council resolution in 2015, which stipulated the release of four military and civilian leaders who were abducted by the militia, in what has become known as those covered by UN Resolution 2216.
