The Political Department in the Secretariat General of the Yemeni Islah Party held a consultative meeting today, Monday, with the heads of Political Departments in the Executive Offices of the Islah Party in all Governorates of the Republic of Yemen.
This consultative meeting was focused on discussing the current political developments and updates on the efforts made by the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to bring about a just and sustainable peace, in accordance with the Saudi initiative presented in 2021.
The participants in the meeting stressed the necessity of involving the National Alliance Parties in any negotiations because they represent a fundamental pillar for legitimacy and the restoration of the state and because they are also representatives of the people through their representation in the House of Representatives, which makes the involvement of these forces and parties within Yemeni legitimacy in any negotiating processes with the Houthi militia necessary.
Those attending this meeting stressed the political forces’ adherence to a peaceful solution in accordance with the three references, which are the Gulf Initiative and its Executive Mechanism, the outcomes of the Comprehensive National Dialogue Conference, and Security Council resolutions, the most important of which is Security Council Resolution No. 2216.
Also, attendees reaffirmed the position of the Yemeni political parties to begin disarming the militia, restore public and private property, and implement the Stockholm Agreement, in a way that leads to the release of all prisoners and abducted persons, lifting the siege imposed on Taiz, in addition to everything related to paying employee salaries from Hudaydah port revenues.
Those attending the meeting appreciated the support of the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for Yemen and their concern for the interests of Yemen by supporting the government and the people of Yemen in various fields. They stressed the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to bring about peace without diminishing the legal status of the Yemeni state and not bypassing the pillars of a political solution.
Dr. Ahmed Halah, Deputy Head of the Political Department at the Secretariat General, said that the attendees in the consultative meeting emphasized many issues related to the vision of the Islah Party and the political parties and forces for a comprehensive and sustainable political solution.
In his statement to the alislah-ye.net website, he made it clear that the officials of the Political Departments of the Islah Party in the Executive Offices in the Governorate emphasized many issues related to the Houthi militia stopping its barbaric practices against the Yemeni people, and ceasing to force society under its control to ideas that contradict national constants and Yemeni identity.
He pointed to educating society about the importance of the terms of reference for a political solution that is considered a guarantor of a just, comprehensive, and sustainable peace that rids the Yemeni people of the hell of the militia and restores the state that guarantees their rights and freedoms.
