Houthism..  Fighting values and spreading crime

الخميس 10 نوفمبر-تشرين الثاني 2022 الساعة 01 مساءً / alislah-ye.net – Exclusive/ By: Sadiq Abdul Mueen

“The morals of oppressed people are getting worse,” this is how the religious scholar Ibn Khaldun immortalized this famous historical saying more than seven centuries ago, it is a saying that describes a reality that the Houthi militia seeks to dedicate in society at the present time through a matrix of procedures and practices that it carries out in the various areas it controls, where this militia seeks to create a new reality that is out of values and is full of deviations and irregularities.

At a time when the Houthi militia claims that it preserves values in society and guards virtue, it has already worked to destroy those values in direct and indirect ways, by adopting more criminal procedures and practices, in addition to the absurd way in running the country away of the law and constitutional legislation, its relentless quest to change the nature of Yemeni society and the introduction of dark and perverted customs, values and ideas that are inconsistent with the values, culture, and identity of society and do not fit with its aspirations to build a modern civil state.

Iranian permeation:

A study published early last year 2021 concluded that the Houthis "turned education into a tool for spreading Iranian values and culture to extend their influence in Yemen."

The report prepared by the website of https://www.impact-se.org, an international institute that monitors curricula and textbooks around the world and published on its website, says that "Iran has penetrated, through the Houthis, the primary education centers and higher education institutes in Yemen."

Impact SE's international report notes that Yemen before the Houthi coup against the state was relatively stable and full of hope, "In this regard, the Houthis seized this opportunity and became Iran's loyal agent in the southern part of the Arabian Peninsula, recognizing the Iranian need to impart Iranian values and culture among its distant proxies. Education has become a focal point for building Tehran's empire."

In its report, the International Institute warns that the training mannequin used by the Houthis in Yemen may additionally furnish extra thoughts into a "largely looming trouble in the Middle East."

Insulting women:

The Yemeni woman, who in the past centuries enjoyed a prominent position, respect, and appreciation in one of the values, traditions, and customs of Yemeni society, where society used to criminalize assault on women and consider this a serious violation and a black shame because of the societal immunity and the important position that women had enjoyed.

However, that position and the societal prestige of women soon collapsed under the weight of Houthi tampering with the value system of society, without giving the slightest consideration to its values, customs, and mores.

At a time when no member of the community dared to utter the slightest offensive word or insult women, the Houthis sought to undermine the status of women, insult and humiliate them, and commit all crimes and violations against them, where this is considered, according to Yemeni customs, an insult to the entire community, until the situation, under the Houthis’ control, came to beating Yemeni women, dragging them, abducting them, practicing the most horrific forms of torture against them, and directing the vilest words and the worst accusations against them and depriving them of their most basic rights.

Human rights sources had revealed that more than 1,700 Yemeni women were abducted by the Houthi coup militia from 2014 to 2022.

According to a symposium organized by the International League for Human Rights)‏ (ILHR) earlier on the sidelines of the 50th session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva, the number of abducted women in the prisons of the Houthi militia reached 1,714, including 504 detainees in the central prison in Sanaa and about 291 who forcibly disappeared in other secret prisons.

This International League made it clear that the Houthi militia, through the judicial organs under its militias, issued 193 illegal sentences against women on charges including espionage, prostitution networks, and soft war.

The Houthi militia did not hesitate to intensify its efforts to target women by various means, but rather exploited them in a hideous way, targeting them in direct and indirect ways. Women were and still are the target of killing, arbitrary arrest, enforced disappearance, and torture, as well as displacement from one region to another, which led to a significant increase in their exposure to violence.

Systematized tampering:

The values of tolerance, coexistence, and brotherhood had the greatest share in the war of the Houthi militia and its systematized futility. The militia had sought to undermine peace and coexistence, which was prevalent in society, and which represented the most prominent features and advantages. Yemeni society has been the incubator for many sectarian religions, in a beautiful mosaic scene, and a more wonderful societal painting that reflected the values of tolerance, coexistence and acceptance of the other with all the diverse religious, sectarian and doctrinal components of the people. The Houthi militia has become a real threat to coexistence and social peace in Yemen after it forcibly displaced many Yemeni families and blew up their homes with racist and doctrinal motives, pursued opponents of its policy, and replaced thousands of its affiliates in government institutions instead of official employees.

Instead of patriotic education and satisfying the spirit of children with an approach of peace and brotherhood by listening to patriotic songs that were rich subjects in the official media before the coup or those songs calling for love, peace, and life and showing films and targeted programs, they have been replaced by zawamil (loud songs performed in a manner that stirs the hearts of the listeners), screams of death, destruction, devastation, and terrorism, which began to dominate them and abduct their souls in order for death to become the homeland, killing is patriotism and violence is manhood in the brains of young children as they imbibe zawamil charged with hatred and violence that radio, television, school buses, mosques, wedding halls, and public events are not without.

Stray and harmful ideas:

According to writer and researcher Anwar al-Khudhari, the values of society are the result of several factors, including “the right religion, virtuous morals, upright norms, rational education, sound education, laws, and regulations governing the movement of people,” and these are the factors that the Houthi militia sought to distort, disrupt and empty from its contents through abuses, violations and actions carried out by the militia.

In his interview with alIslah-ye.net news website, al-Khudhari said that the Houthi militia came through destroying all these aspects, so it antagonized the true religion, brought people with bad morals, and it, through these bad people, become master. And it marginalized upright norms, impeded the process of education from the family to the school to the university, and dropped laws and replaced them with force, oppression, and subordination.

Al-Khudhari points out that the Houthi militia is “a movement that lacks human civility, as well as religious civility, so it only creates death and destruction. In other words, it is possible for us to find political parties and civil society movements in the East and West working to achieve beneficial customs and traditions for their peoples,” and they are interested in education so that they establish urbanization and development, even if some of them are atheists because they are guided by their minds, even if they are not guided by religion.”

Al-Khudhari continues by saying: "However, the Houthi militia has no religion, morals, nor mind, except for a cumulus of misguided and even harmful thoughts. That is why it is working to transform society into a state of poverty, hunger, crime, robbery, looting, and imprudence."

Titans of subjugation and hammers of plunder:

And about the images and manifestations of tampering with the value system of Yemeni society, researcher Anwar al-Khudhari points out some of them by saying: “Disrupting the function of mosques, Qur’an houses, science assemblies and circles of spiritual remembrance, as well as destroying educational institutions, changing curricula and empowering the ignoble people - who have no value in religion, knowledge or experience except that they are fighting mercenaries, titans of subjugation and hammers of plunder - on necks of the people.”

Al-Khudhari adds wondering: What has Yemen achieved since the advent of the Houthis except for destruction, ignorance, disease, classism, nervousness, family and societal disintegration, violence and criminality?... Were it not for the presence of a remnant of religion, customs and conscience in people's morals, under the authority of this militia, we would be in a completely bleak scene today."

Writer and researcher Anwar al-Khudari ends his speech by saying: "The biggest concern for the Houthi militia is al-Batnain (a religious political theory), Custodianship, Aal al-Bayt (the family of prophet Muhammad), Sayyid (master) and Khums (fifth of Zakah)), without any good trace and good example. The greatest achievements of this militia are those cemeteries that express not only the death of bodies but also the death of souls, where there is pandemonium, killing, and fighting. Then they come to talk to people about guidance and the Guide, knowing that if the light of guidance appeared, peace, goodness, security, and charity would be the most general manifestation, but this is from the charlatanry of the charlatans throughout their bitter history.

ISIS version:

The Houthi militia has sought to improve its image and polish its ugly face by intruding into public life and interfering in people's privacy, through some dictates and measures it has taken against citizens in various fields, claiming to preserve morals, values and obligate people to them.

The Houthi militia has sought to improve its image and polish its ugly face by intruding into public life and interfering in people's privacy, through some dictates and measures it has taken against citizens in various fields, claiming to preserve morals, values and obligate people to them.

With regard to schools and universities, the militia imposed strict restrictions on students regarding clothing, and these restrictions ranged from preventing conversations between males and females, imposing restrictions even on professors, and interfering with the privacy of everyone.

The arbitrary measures of the Houthis were not limited to this point of restriction and imposition of censorship, but the situation reached setting certain hairstyles, specific fashions of clothes, women’s gowns, banning wedding ceremonies and concerts, breaking mannequins, destroying banners and notice boards of shops and other practices that the Houthi militia is trying to appear as the protector of values and virtue and their honest guard.

Continual growth of crime:

These disgraceful actions and practices come at a time when the putschists-controlled areas are witnessing a remarkable and unprecedented rise in the crime rate and record numbers, in light of the deafening silence by the Houthi militia, which represents the de-facto authority and is directly responsible for establishing security and controlling crime in its areas of control.

The crime of theft and looting of shops, cars, and motorcycles and blocking roads has spread in an unprecedented way. The murder of relatives has also emerged in a remarkable way, especially parents and sons, where many crimes in which sons and parents were killed in a hideous manner were documented, without taking the necessary measures in this regard, in addition to the increase in the number of abduction crimes, which included many children of both sexes, in a phenomenon that has become a major concern for Yemeni society, in addition to other types of crimes that have spread widely since the Houthi coup against the state and their control of power eight years ago.
