The Human Rights Information and Training Center (HRITC) revealed its documentation of 58 cases of violations against civilians during the month of November in Taiz Governorate, southwest of Yemen.

In a press statement on Wednesday, the HRITC said that its field team documented "the killing of 5 civilians, including 3 children and a woman, caused by the Houthi militia, while a civilian was killed by direct shot by a member of the Security Committee."

The field team also documented the injury of 17 civilians, including 7 children and 4 women, caused by the Houthi militia, while 7 other civilians, including two women and 3 children, were wounded by bullets of outlaw gunmen, and two other civilians were wounded by an army member and an unknown gunman.

The HRTC's field team documented 5 cases of assault, three of which committed by members of the government army, while one of which was committed by both out-law armed men and unknown gunmen, in addition to documenting one case of detention committed by the security committee.

The Center monitored 3 cases of violations targeted public property, including the damage to the Mokha Hospital and the destruction of its storehouse due to a bombing launched by the Houthi militia with ballistic missiles and booby-trapped drones on the West Coast, in addition to the damage of a public vehicle due to an explosion of an explosive device planted by unknown persons.

The Center also documented 25 cases of violations against private property, during which 3 houses and 4 vehicles were totally destroyed, and 12 houses and 6 vehicles were partially damaged as a result of the shelling of the Houthi militia.

The report broached on the difficult security conditions faced by the liberated areas of the city and practices against security by individuals and groups in the Security Committee, the military police and the government army, as well as the local authority.

The report pointed out that the situation in the Directorates of the coastal areas remains complex and a major concern in terms of the high rate of human rights violations.
