Leaders of Yemeni political parties meet with officials of the Communist Party of China's foreign relations

The delegation of the Yemeni political parties, which is visiting China, met yesterday with Zhang Gangwei, official in the party's external relations, at the Foreign Relations Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in Beijing.
The Yemeni political parties are represented by Mr. Abdulwahab al-Anisi, Secretary-General of the Yemeni Islah Party, Sultan al-Barkani, Assistant Secretary-General of the General People's Congress, Dr. Muhammad Al-Mikhlafi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Yemeni Socialist Party, Dr. Abdulmalik al-Mikhlafi, Member of the Central Committee of the Nasserist Popular Unionist Organization and Ashraf Ali Muhammad Head of the Central Committee of the Arab Socialist Baath.
In the meeting, the delegation of Yemeni parties reviewed China's support to Yemen in various fields such as economic, developmental and political fields. The delegation called for the continuation of this support in light of the difficult circumstances in Yemen. The delegation also called for more humanitarian and economic assistance, including assistance in rehabilitating Yemen for economic recovery and reconstruction. This assistance includes the development of Yemeni ports and the support of health facilities, especially those facilities that China is a partner in the establishment and development. In addition, the development of cultural cooperation, including technical and scientific training, exchange of literature, translation and scholarships for Yemeni students in Chinese universities.
On the political side, the delegation of the Yemeni political parties stressed the need to establish a sustainable peace in Yemen based on the terms of reference of the transitional period and based on Security Council Resolution No. 2216 and the results of the previous consultations, especially the Kuwait draft agreement.
During the meeting, the leaders of the Yemeni parties stressed that a comprehensive and sustainable peace requires the completion of negotiations on two tracks starting with the military and security track, foremost of which is the withdrawal of the coup militias from the state institutions and all the governorates and the delivery of heavy and medium weapons to the state, and then the transition to the political track between political parties after being the weapons are only with the State.
The members of the Yemeni parties' delegation also stressed the position of their parties supporting the Chinese position to solve the problem of the South China Sea peacefully and support the one-China policy.
The Yemeni delegation expressed its thanks to the Chinese Communist Party for inviting Yemeni political parties, hoping to strengthen the relationship between the two sides at a level commensurate with the historical relationship between Yemen and China.
For his part, Zhang Gangwei welcomed the Yemeni delegation, expressing his and the Communist Party of China happiness to strengthen relations with Yemeni political parties and develop it in practical ways leads to more communication and cooperation.
Zhang expressed gratitude for Yemen's supportive stance on China in the South China Sea. "This means a lot to the Chinese people and true friendships are emerging in difficult times," Zhang said.
A leader in the Communist Party of China (CPC), stressed China's support for the legitimacy and unity of Yemen and its territorial integrity. He also affirmed the support of the Chinese Communist Party for the peaceful solution in Yemen through the United Nations and in accordance with the agreed references of the Gulf Initiative and its executive mechanism, the outputs of the National Dialogue Conference and relevant Security Council resolutions, in particular the resolution No. 2216.
The same leader reiterated the Chinese people's stand to the side of the Yemeni people and the continuation of the People's Republic of China in providing assistance to the Yemeni people through official channels, stressing his country's readiness to participate in reconstruction after the war.
Mr. Zhang also expressed the Chinese Communist Party's willingness to develop relations with Yemeni political parties in the cultural, scientific and technical fields.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Head of the Political Department of the Yemeni Islah Party Mr. Muhammad Hizam Al Ashwal, Eng. Tawfiq Abdul Wahed Ali, member of the Central Committee of the Yemeni Socialist Party and leaders form the Foreign Relations Committee of the Communist Party of China.
