Dahwan reviews the oles of Islahian women in political and public life

Amal Al-Dahwan, head of the Women’s Department In the Yemeni Islah Party, said that the Yemeni Islah Party gives great attention to women and Is keen to involve them In the party’s various institutions and political activities.

  

This came during a meeting held yesterday, Wednesday, In the Jordanian capital, Amman, with Ms. Julia Beckhardt, Project Director of the CMI - Martti Ahtisaari Peace Foundation, Ms. Rawan al-Zoubi, Projects Director, and Hanaa Abed, Programs Director at the British Embassy, on the sidelines of the conclusion of the second phase of the training program on strengthening the role of women's administrations In political components and parties in making comprehensive peace in Yemen.

Dahwan touched on the role of the Islah Party since Its founding in developing women and liberating them from Ignorance, noting the role of reformist women and their tangible achievements in the general framework of Yemeni women as a whole.

The Islahian female leader referred to the party’s Internal regulations, which provided ample space for women, pointing to the active participation of reformist women in the political process.

For their part, the Project Director of the CMI - Martti Ahtisaari Peace Foundation, and the Project Director and Program Director at the British Embassy, emphasized support for women and there issues, as well as plans and programs to implement the advocacy campaign for women’s Issues and enhance their participation.

In addition to the leader of the Women's Department In the Islah Party, Amal Dahwan, the meeting was attended by the Head of the Women's Department, member of the Political Bureau of the Yemeni Socialist Party, the General Secretariat, Sana'a Governorate's coordinator for the advocacy campaign, Dr. Wahbiyya Sabra, and the member of the Presidency of the Supreme Authority of the Hadhramawt Inclusive Conference, Ms. Amal Baqrin.
