Secretary-General of the Executive Office of the Yemeni Islah Party in Al-Mahra Governorate, Abdullah Nuwaijee, said that all Islah Party's grassroots were present from the first moments of Hurricane Tej’s sweep of the various Directorates and they carried out their duty towards those affected and provided services to them.

In a statement he made to the alislah-ye.net website, we appreciated the efforts made by the President of the Presidential Council, Rashad Al-Alimi, who was in the Governorate to see the repercussions of this disaster, calling at the same time to harness all government efforts to rehabilitate the infrastructure and assist the families affected by the hurricane.

He also appreciated the role of the leadership of the Arab Alliance led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in providing services and aid to those affected, side by side with the Sultanate of Oman, which had a role in providing aid, indicating that the Governorate is in dire need of greater support to rehabilitate everything that was destroyed by the hurricane.

He pointed out that the scale of the disaster was large and required the cooperation of everyone, whether in the local authority or civil society organizations, to help those affected and compensate for their losses.

He praised the support of the local authority in Hadhramawt and the Hadhrami community, along with their brothers in Al-Mahra and providing a relief convoy to them in order to alleviate the suffering of the families affected by the hurricane.

He called on the local authority in Mahra to redouble its preparations for the next stage and work to build shelter centers, in addition to providing sufficient food stocks and the necessity of having planes capable of reaching the places of those affected.

He praised the role of citizens from various directorates in helping those affected, whether by hosting them in their homes or transporting them to shelter centers, explaining that this indicates the community cohesion that characterizes Al-Mahrah.
