The fifth of April 2015 was not the beginning of the coup militia’s crimes record, but rather it exposes the political sterility, moral bankruptcy and historical hatred that the coup militia hides against the Yemeni people, the tools of peaceful political action, the multilateralism system and the democratic approach. On the eve of that day, the terrorist Houthi militia made its choice to raid the residence of the countrywide symbol, the icon of peaceable struggle, the pioneer of dialogues and the architect of political consensus, Mr. Muhammad Muhammad Qahtan, and his abduction from amongst his household and children, and the militia is still continuing the crime of covering him up to this day.

Eight years ago, the anniversary of this political crime still comes and filled of contradictions mixed with feelings of popular sympathy, pain, psychological suffering for the families of all the abductees, including the Qahtan family, as well as government indolence and UN and international complicity regarding the continuation of the crime of enforced disappearance, which the United Nations charters classify as a “crime against humanity.”

When the Houthi militia arrived in Sana'a with the gun of funded terrorism, it was aware that its gun was weak in the face of the power of the peaceful political voice, which calls for peace and dialogue biased towards the options of the national consensus capable of making approaches between political opponents, which expresses the justice violated state's cause at hands of the dynastic gangs coming from behind the years of the pluralistic republican system and behind the walls of the values of equal citizenship and political partnership based on the representation of the masses and the expression of their will. The militia aimed to banish Qahtan as a necessity to banish an entire country and empty the arena of its active political symbols as a prelude to emptying the rest of the state institutions of their content and liquidating the political thinkers who are able to curtail the "fluff" in an effort to prolong the inevitable setback.

In addition to the continuation of the crimes of abductions, violations, torture and disappearance, the Yemenis realized that they are all on the target lists carried by Satan in the land of open graves in the era of secret prisons and constructed detention centers; Satan falsely wrapped in a remnant of the garments of prophecy, and a remnant of the alleged divine right to rule over people and their money by the power of weapons, falsely licensed by God and smuggled from Tehran in reality!

And here is the eighth anniversary of this political crime, which comes in light of the international and regional forces’ calls for bringing comprehensive peace and in light of the Yemeni forces and components calling for the establishment of a framework for political settlement and peace, but how can the militia be understood that the future of the country is formulated by the value of dialogue and not by the crime of abduction, exclusion and insistence on continuing in which? And how can people be persuaded that giving up people's freedoms and their violated humanitarian rights is the best way to achieve peace?! And how can the Yemenis’ confidence be strengthened that the UN and international envoys and sponsors of the settlement, who failed to implement the UN Security Council resolution that stipulated the unconditional release of Muhammad Qahtan, have the ability to put pressure on it to make the militia engages in a serious and just peace according to the three terms of reference?!

In all the previous rounds of negotiation regarding the file of the abductees and prisoners, the behavior of the UN envoy and international officials was complicit with the militia in legitimizing the exchange of the abductees taken from their homes for prisoners of war fighting in its aggressive battles against the Yemeni people, and every time the legitimacy was pressured to make more concessions under the justification of the humanitarian side, as if the humanitarian justification does not include Qahtan and lays only in something else. This UN and international behavior is no longer understood nor acceptable, because the requirements of their international role require them to support and implement Security Council resolutions, including the unconditional release of Muhammad Qahtan.

It has become necessary for the Presidential Leadership Council and the Yemeni government to leave the point of indolence and trembling towards this ongoing crime, not to accept again the opening of new rounds of negotiations until the place of detention of Muhammad Qahtan is revealed and his release, and not to participate again with the aim of completing partial deals, and not to participate again with the aim of completing partial deals, but rather with the aim of whitewashing prisons, detention centers and places of detention affiliated with the Houthi militia has it completely. There is no value to any false peace that does not guarantee the rights of the Yemenis and liberate the abducted and the prisoners without selection or discrimination.

And just as the Qahtan issue moved from the partisan and national dimension to the international dimension, it is important to call for a unified national stance towards it and to call for the formation of a broad Arab and international framework of all parties, forces, political figures, organizations, free people in the world who believe in the values of peaceful political action, advocates of peace and human rights in various countries who reject all forms of violating humanitarian law, threatening and obliterating political life at the hand of the terrorist groups who are draw strength from weapons and tools of violence in order to mobilize political positions to present them before regional and international forums regarding the crime of abduction and exclusion of the Yemeni politician, Mr. Muhammad Qahtan, for more than eight years, as a case targeting the approach and tools of peaceful political action, as well as a crime against humanity, against international laws and covenants, and against the Security Council resolution issued in 2015, which stipulated his immediate release.

It is also important to invite the UN and international envoys to Yemen to conduct a careful study of the reality of the laws and charters of the United Nations, foremost of which is the “Declaration for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance” and the reality of other literature of the parties they represent before the Yemeni people and their political forces, and to be prepared to give their convincing answers to justify their dealings with any similar cases in the region that may be established based on the current method of dealing with the Qahtan case, who is covered by the UN Security Council resolution.

The abduction of the politician, Muhammad Qahtan, will remain a a disgrace to the terrorist Houthi militia, a black page in the history of conflicts, and a scar on the face of advocates and sponsors of peace. And his continued exclusion by the militia will remain a failed attempt to strike the national and political fabric and the compass of the national forces will not deviate from the continuation of the struggle to end the Houthi coup and restore the state. We still have the hope of looking towards a future in which peace spreads in light of all the Yemeni people enjoying freedom and their confiscated rights in full view of the world.
