The parties of the National Alliance in Marib Governorate have warned that the failure to include politician Muhammad Qahtan in the list of persons included in the decision to release them in the prisoner exchange deal to be implemented threatens to undermine what was partially agreed upon in the negotiations that took place in Switzerland recently.

In a statement they issued on Thursday, the political parties said that they followed with great interest "the Geneva negotiations concerning the prisoners, the abducted and forcibly disappeared by the Houthi coup group that took place between the government delegations and the Houthi group, in addition, the keenness and flexibility shown by the government delegation in order to reach the principle of "releasing all for all", without distinction.

The statement stated that the political parties followed "the intransigent and swagger of the Houthi delegation on an issue related to the humanitarian aspect, which was the main cause of its occurrence as a result of the ominous coup that it carried out against the republican system and its constitutional legitimacy on September 21, 2014."

It continued: "At a time when we salute the flexibility and keenness of the government to end the tragedy and suffering of thousands of families who are eager to see their sons and relatives, the submission to the extent of crossing out the name of the great political activist, Mr. Muhammad Qahtan, where he is considered a symbol of peaceful political action and national consensus, whose issue has become a matter of a public opinion, and he is one of those included in the international decision to release them, therefore, his family, as well as the political forces, have the right to know his fate, and therefore this makes the international mediator and the Yemeni government morally responsible for demanding the implementation of the human and legal right.

The statement said, "At a time when the political forces support and bless the people who were included in the decision to be released so that they can rejoice in spending the blessed Eid al-Fitr with their families after this suffering, but we stress that there is no benefit from the joy of Eid al-Fitr except when all the prisoners are released, foremost of which is the great politician Muhammad Qahtan so that there is no setback to what was partially agreed upon in Switzerland," stressing that "humanitarian issues cannot be fragmented or selective."
