Unidentified gunmen assassinated the imam of the al-Muhajireen Mosque in the al-Mamdara neighborhood of the interim capital, Aden, on Monday evening.

Identical media sources reported that the Imam of the al-Muhajireen Mosque, Muhammad al-Hindi, was assassinated in the al-Mamdara neighborhood of Aden by unknown armed men who fled aboard a Corolla car.

It is noteworthy that this is the ninth assassination operation that is being carried out in Aden within a week, where the number of assassinations targeting military leaders has increased recently in conjunction with the return of the Prime Minister and some ministers to Aden.

Aden is witnessing widespread security chaos, where directors of the Criminal investigation department in the Arish and Mansoura police, and others were recently assassinated. This comes in light of the control of the Emirati-backed Southern Transitional Council over the city since its coup against the government on August 10, 2019.

Since the UAE took control of it after its liberation from the Houthis and Saleh in late 2015, Aden has witnessed massive assassinations targeting a number of security and military leaders, mosque imams, prominent persons and political leaders who oppose the UAE and its tools in the south.
