The head of the Information and Culture Department of the Yemeni Islah Party, Ali al-Jaradi, described the government measures represented in raising the prices of oil derivatives, gas, electricity, and customs as "deadly measures for society," stressing that these measures do not represent a crisis to the difficult economic situation the government is going through.

Through his post on Tuesday, al-Jaradi called on the government to take real economic measures represented in reducing the number of embassies, the salaries of officials that are paid in dollars, and the fight against corruption. He also called for protecting economic facilities from Houthi attacks and investing and unifying resources in order to get out of the crisis.

The government's Supreme Economic Council had approved an increase in the prices of the customs dollar from 500 riyals to 750 Yemeni riyals. It also approved raising the prices of fuel, domestic gas, electricity, and water, which will constitute an additional burden on the shoulders of citizens.
