The Islah Party and Strategic Transformations

One of the important things that are credited to the Islah Party is that it has succeeded, since its founding, in adopting an effective plan for the strategic transition from a situation to another and from a stage to another, on the practical and theoretical levels, even if with a measure of positivity and achievement.

Proceeding from the principle of partnership between the political process parties, it excelled again in the transition from partisan legitimacy to political legitimacy and joint frontal political action, and then excelled in the third strategic transition from the political legitimacy of joint frontal political action to general national legitimacy, proceeding from the general national concept in its popular stratified depth and regional geographic depth, and based on the basis of the general national constants represented by the republic, unity, democracy, national sovereignty, the state guarantor of rights and freedoms, political partnership and the supreme national interests.

On this day in 1990, and on the basis of the strategic transition from the legitimacy of clandestine action to the legitimacy of declared party action, the Yemeni Islah Party had emerged as a giant political party that surpassed all the circumstances of the establishment to enter, less than two years after its inception, in the electoral process to qualify for membership in the Yemeni Parliament, achieved a quarter of the seats of the Parliament, while it was still in the stage of legal in the conditions of the establishment.

After this date, and in less than seven years of its establishment, the Islah Party was able to the strategic transition from party legitimacy to political legitimacy and frontal political action within the framework of the Joint Meeting Parties bloc in order to give importance and diversity to the political equation and to restore the value of the political opposition and its centrality as an active pillar in the pluralistic political system "power + opposition" after the pluralist system was about to collapse and lose one of its cornerstones after the war of 94, as well as being able to embody the principle of political partnership and the adoption of peaceful struggle as a means to restore rights and freedoms, according to which the opposition obtained real power, which is the power of “objection” as opposed to the power of “ruling.”

Thus, the Islah Party was able, for the first time, with its partners, to hold strong competitive presidential elections that shook the centralization of the ruling regime and created a major imbalance that led to its collapse and fall with the formation of the Arab Spring phenomenon.

All of this happened within the framework of democratic rules, civil action and peaceful struggle, away from all forms of violence and counter-violence, and in a harmonious and reasonable partnership to a large extent between the partners of political life, regardless of the stumbles that occurred due to the mistakes and trespasses of all the parties to the partnership, as well as the objective circumstances affecting.

The Party witnessed at the geographical level a process of spreading a large and wide organization over the homeland with all its Governorates within the framework of strengthening the principle of "decentralization of organization," where the Islah Party gave full independence to local organizations.

On the popular level, the Islah Party worked to support the process of stratified expansion in the various components and segments of Yemeni society in varying proportions. It also encouraged the spread of unions, organizations, craft and charitable associations, and student, youth and women unions. All this is within the framework of the principle of strategic transition to supreme national legitimacy.

With the emergence of the phenomenon of the Arab Spring, and within the framework of the strategic transition to national legitimacy, the Islah Party had immune into the trench of the people's demands along with the demands of the youth, which were calling for the overthrow of the regime in a peaceful way, with showing a great deal of preserving the concept of the state and preserving sovereignty, republic, unity and regional relations, in light of an intertwined and extremely complex ring of struggle that made the Islah Party lose some of the ability to control all its outcomes, but it eventually led to a historical settlement embodied in the Gulf initiative to preserve the state From collapse and ridding it of an Iranian robbery, its indicators are clear, and it is the settlement that was overturned with the tools of the old regime and some of its regional ties.

We congratulate the Islah Party on its 32nd anniversary of founding, by emphasizing the following:

First: The Islah Party is a great party and possesses most of the keys to the Yemeni cause by virtue of its stratified societal and geographical expansion, and by virtue of its reliance on the principles of the Republic, unity, democracy, sovereignty and the preservation of the supreme interests of the country, and by virtue of its wide agendas in civil life, but the Islah Party, despite all these privileges, it may not possess all the inspiring leadership skills that can express practically or even theoretically the secrets of this greatness in the Party, as well as the skill of grasping all the keys to the national cause that is one of the outcomes of this great party.

Secondly: The skill of the strategic transition from a fighting legitimacy to another, broader and more comprehensive one, needs the conditions and specifications of the leading party more than it needs the conditions and specifications of the active party, given that the struggle effectiveness in the absence of an attentive leadership often turns into burdens on the struggling entity.

Thirdly: Facts proved that the Islah Party has immune itself in the trenches of national legitimacy, the foundations of the republic, unity, democracy, sovereignty, and the preservation of the supreme national interests, as much as it worked to protect the Islah Party from attacks and provided it with the conditions of insuperableness as a party enjoying national legitimacy, but it exhausted the national legitimacy with all its pillars, where the arrows of the opponents of the Islah Party became targeting these national foundations before they reached the Islah Party itself.

Such a situation makes it imperative for the Islah Party, based on its national responsibility, to set measures, take policies and strengthen national partnerships to protect these pillars from these deadly arrows that target the national pillars before targeting the Islah party itself. On the other hand, the responsibility of national collective security requires all partners to send warning signs to others that the republic, unity, sovereignty, democracy and the supreme interests of the country are not the Islah Party.

Fourthly: It is important for Islahis to know that the most dangerous stage of organized political entities is when the entity becomes larger than the party and less than the state.

Best wishes for a happy festivals
