The Yemeni Islah Party in Hadhramawt Governorate condemned the recent events that took place in the city of Mukalla on Monday, June 7, 2021.

At a meeting of its Executive Office in the city of Mukalla yesterday, Tuesday called on the Governorate authorities to stop using live bullets in the face of demonstrators who are calling for improving basic services, especially electricity.

The Hadhramawt Islah Party considered that the use of live bullets against peaceful activities calling for improving services represented in taking urgent measures to stop the collapse of the electricity system and the continuous price hikes is not the solution, but rather it further complicates the scene.

It called on the current local authorities to give priority to the services file before the situation worsens further.

The Hadhramawt Islah Party also condemned the sabotage attempts that some state institutions subjected to, considering this behavior unacceptable and not in the interest of the country or the citizen, calling for emphasizing the use of peaceful means to demand and extract rights.

The Hadhramawt Islah Party renewed its demand for the authorities in the Governorate, the government and the Arab Alliance to intervene quickly and urgently to stop the collapse of the national currency and work hard to address the file of services that are deteriorating in the Governorate from day to another.
