The defense lawyer for the four abducted journalists in the prisons of the Houthi militia, the lawyer Abdul Majeed Sabra, revealed that the suffering of the four journalists abducted in the militia's prisons in the occupied capital, Sana'a, has doubled.

In a post on his Facebook account, Lawyer Sabra said, "The four journalists are under constant threat in Houthi prisons by the implementation of the death sentence (issued against them by the militia) if they are not released through a prisoner exchange deal."

Sabra made it clear that "The Houthi militia has continued to prevent the four journalists from visiting since late last year, in addition to preventing them from receiving health care."

He pointed out that the abducted journalist Tawfiq al-Mansoori is still suffering, until this moment, from his deteriorating health, and the Houthi militia refuses to take him out for treatment, despite his request to be released at his personal expense.

Lawyer Sabra considered that "the one recently issued by the Specialized First Instance Criminal Court against the four journalists is not considered a judicial ruling in the legal sense, but rather a murder order, where the procedures of issuing the verdict do not apply to it any legal or constitutional text." He emphasized that the ruling issued was "contrary to all of this and lacks the least and most basic elements of a fair trial."

In the same context, Lawyer Sabra stated in a statement published by the Yemenshabab.net website, "What journalists are exposed to confirms that the Houthi group cannot accept any opinion other than what it sees, which reflects its tyranny and the inability to transform it into a political party that accepts freedom of opinion and expression and political pluralism."

In this regard, he called on "all those concerned to stand seriously to pressure the Houthi militia in the capital, Sanaa, to speed up the release of the four abducted journalists."

It is noteworthy that the four journalists have been imprisoned by the terrorist Houthi militia since June 2015, and recently the Houthi militia issued a death sentence against them.

On April 11 of last year, 2020, the Houthi militia issued a decision to execute four of the journalists who were abducted in its prisons, and they are “Abdul Khaliq Omran, Akram Saleh al-Waleedi, Harith Saleh Hamid and Tawfiq al-Mansouri.”
