The Yemeni Coalition for Monitoring Human Rights Violations (Rasd Coalition) revealed the monitoring and documentation of 73 violations committed by the Houthi militia against residents of the Directorates of Sala, al-Qahira and al-Muzaffar in Taiz during the period from November 1st to December 19th, 2020).
In a report it issued today, under the title (Taiz... Non-stop bombing), the Rasd Coalition clarified that the artillery shelling launched by the Houthi militia from the locations in which it is stationed, north and east of Taiz, targeted a number of populated areas and vital installations. This bombing resulted in killing 11 civilians, including 6 children, and wounding 37 others, including 21 children and 4 women, in addition to partial and total damage to 25 public and private facilities and properties.
The report indicated that the artillery shells that were carried out by the Houthi militia were of the type of Howitzer, which killed 6 civilians, including two children, and wounded 8 others, all of them children. The report also noted that mortar shells killed 4 civilians, including 3 children, and wounded 26 others, including 11 children and 4 women. The report pointed out that the 25 children who were victims of Houthi artillery shelling during the reporting period, aged between (1 to 16 years), constitute 55 percent of the total number of dead and 57 percent of the total number of wounded, and this represents a serious indicator that reveals the enormity the crime committed against childhood in Taiz, in addition to the genocide the city is subjected to at the hands of the Houthi militia.
The report pointed out that the artillery shelling that targeted the residential neighborhoods of Taiz by the Houthi militia during the month of November and two-thirds of the month of December 2020 severely damaged a number (20) facilities and private properties, including (11) houses partially damaged and one house completely destroyed, in addition to the infliction of partial damage to (5) shops and (3) vehicles belonging to citizens, while partial damage to (5) public facilities has been inflicted, including two health facilities, two mosques and a sports club.
