The official spokesperson for the Yemeni Islah Party, Adnan al-Odaini, praised the new Saudi support for the electricity sector in Yemen.

Al-Odaini noted that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's announcement of $150 million in new support for the electricity sector in Yemen is an important step aimed at alleviating the suffering of citizens and enhancing the stability of essential services, especially given the difficult circumstances the country is facing.

In a post on the X platform, al-Odaini expressed his deep gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, commending the generous and continuous support that significantly contributes to easing the daily burdens on citizens.

Earlier, the Saudi Ambassador to Yemen, Muhammad Al Jaber, announced the provision of urgent support to the Yemeni government in the form of $150 million worth of petroleum derivatives. This support was provided through the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen, with the aim of covering the operational needs of power plants in various governorates.

Al Jaber indicated that this support aligns with the directives of the Saudi leadership and aims to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people, as well as enhance the stability of electricity services, particularly amid rising temperatures and increased energy demand during the summer.

The Yemeni government expressed its gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for this support, noting that it will help enhance the efficiency of the electricity sector, alleviate citizens' suffering, and support service and economic activities. It also commended the efforts of the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen in implementing service and development projects, promoting stability, and supporting economic reforms in the country.
