The United States extends its congratulations to the Yemeni people on the 36th anniversary of Yemeni Unity Day.

The U.S. Embassy in Yemen issued a statement today, Friday, expressing the U.S. government's sincerest congratulations to the Yemeni people on their national holiday. The statement affirmed that this occasion represents a significant event in Yemen's history and reflects the Yemeni people's resilience and aspirations.

The statement commended the values of unity, resilience, and inherent pride that characterize the Yemeni people throughout the country, while emphasizing the United States' commitment to supporting Yemenis in their pursuit of a future based on peace, sovereignty, security, and prosperity.

Washington expressed its desire to continue cooperating with the legitimate Yemeni government and its partners to enhance stability, strengthen institutions, and support a future that fulfills the aspirations of all Yemenis.

The Embassy noted the continuation of joint U.S. efforts to support Yemen's prosperity and improve the well-being of its people.

The statement addressed the dangers posed by the terrorist Houthis militia that continues to destabilize Yemen and threaten regional security, in addition to obstructing the Yemeni people's aspirations for peace and development.

The statement reaffirmed the United States' commitment to supporting the Yemeni people now and in the future.

The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, delivered a speech yesterday, Thursday, on the occasion of the 36th anniversary of the Republic of Yemen's National Day, May 22. In his speech, he emphasized that Yemeni unity is a humanitarian and national project, noting that addressing the Southern issue within the framework of the state is fundamental to consolidating national cohesion, resilience, and continuing the liberation struggle until a comprehensive and lasting peace is achieved.
