A new report has recently revealed the magnitude of crimes and violations committed by the Iran-backed Houthi militia and forces loyal to ousted president during the first quarter of the current year 2017 in Dhamar province.

According to the report issued by a human rights team of NahdatWatan organization in Dhamar, 3978 cases of violations and crimes have been in the report.

In the first three months, the Houthi and Saleh militias killed 18 cases, including 6 children and a woman, and a mentally-ill person, as well as tortured another one to death.

Based on the report, 17 cases, including a child, were forcibly disappeared in the province during the first quarter of this year, while 17 cases plus three women were threatened and abused.

The report added that 15 residential homes were blown up and destroyed, and 14 others were damaged in shelling by the militias during their war on Utma district.

46 homes were broken into and looted by the militias in Dhamar; four of them were seized and converted into military sites, according to the report.

It was also noted that the militias of Houthis and ousted president Saleh looted 35 shops and 52 vehicles and motorcycles belonging to citizens.

The report confirmed that 315 farms and four wells were damaged and destroyed, and personal belongings were looted by the militias during their battles against the residents of Utma.

 

The report documented 11 cases of attacks against educational facilities by the militias, 4 others against places of worship and 79 violations against civilian facilities.

As mentioned in the report, 297 state institutions were damaged and destroyed by the coup’s militias.

During the same period of time, the number of recruited children accounted for 125 cases, while violations against women amounted to 300 cases.

Finally, the report pointed out that there 1790, including 611 cases of forced displacement, were displaced from the city since the beginning of the year until the moment; all of them hailed from Utma district.
