Ballistic missiles and Katyusha rockets that were fired by the terrorist Houthi militia affiliated with Iran on the city of Marib, which embraces more than two million citizens, resulted in the death and injury of at least 689 civilians, including 92 children and women, since the beginning of April 2015 until July 14, 2020.

According to a statistics prepared by the "Marib Governorate" website in cooperation with the Human Rights Office in the Marib Governorate, the number of ballistic missiles and Katyusha rockets that targeted residential neighborhoods and civilian objects in the city of Marib reached 244 missiles, distributed between 112 ballistic missiles, 131 Katyusha rockets, and one Orjan missile.

The number of martyrs who died as a result of the Houthi missiles that targeted the city was 251 civilians, including 25 children and 12 women, while the number of wounded was 438 civilians, including 47 children, 8 women and the elderly.

The Patriot anti-missile system of the Arab Alliance supporting the legitimacy has dealt with 85 ballistic missiles since 2015, and 26 other missiles have fallen on separate residential neighborhoods, killing 174 civilians, including 3 children and two women, and wounding 231 civilians, including 16 children, one woman and two elderly people.

As for Katyusha rockets, they resulted in killing 69 civilians, including 12 children and 12 women, and caused in wounding other 198 persons, including 21 children, 4 women and 4 elderly people, while one Orjan-type missile launched by the militia on the night of Eid al-Fitr in 2016 caused in the martyry of 8 civilians, all of them were children and injuring 8 children and a woman.

The city of Marib is packed with hundreds of thousands of residents of the governorate's people and displaced people who came to it from various governorates subjected to the control of the Houthi militia to escape the deadly violations committed by the Houthis against the citizens in the areas of their control, which caused the largest internal displacement in Yemen.

The Marib Governorate is the presiding Yemeni governorate in the process of absorbing the displaced people coming from the areas controlled by the Houthis, where it contains more than 90 camps and population centers for the displaced, and it includes the largest camp for the displaced inside Yemen, which is the Jufaynah camp.
