Yemeni Islah Party and the transboundary reference

الأحد 12 يوليو-تموز 2020 الساعة 04 مساءً / alislah-ye.net - Alsahwa.net

The Saudi academic, Suleiman al-Aqili, writes a tweet on his account on Tweeter about the danger of dividing Yemen for the security and stability of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf. Someone commented on this tweet by saying that the serious danger lies in President Hadi, the leaders of the General People's Congress and the Islah party, which intends to bring Turkey to Yemen, according to his claim!!.

Dr. Al-Aqili reads the map of actual threats through an approach to the truth, and some Gulf commentators address these threats from the Houthi perspective, just as Iran desires.

Here, I have the issue No. 1397 of the official newspaper of the Yemeni Islah Party "Alsahwa" issued on November 7, 2013.

In the editorial of this issue, the political editor affirms the Yemeni Islah Party’s vision and its steadfast position towards state issues and being against it, coups, violence and weapons, saying, “Let us stand against the idea of aggression, violence and weapons, as well as against the system of different ideas and directions that lead to conflict, and against getting out against the state and against doctrinal and sectarian mobilization, attempts to impose power options and challenge the state, and attempt to spread influence over citizens’ areas by force of arms and threatening the overall social ladder.

The Yemeni Islah Party does not decide to summon other countries to Yemen because it is neither the state nor a substitute for the state, and it is also not an agent of foreign bodies that own the reins of its decisions, as is the case with the Houthi group.

The Islah Party is a political component that operates within the frameworks determined by Yemeni law and constitution, and it does not deviate from it or transcend the state.

In 2014, the Islah Party was subjected to a comprehensive campaign of eradication by the Iranian-backed Houthi coup; At that time, the Islah Party did not ask anyone except the Yemeni state to protect its leaders, individuals, and headquarters, being this is part of the state's duty and its constitutional and legal responsibilities to guarantee the security and safety of all its citizens.

When the eradication campaign did not stop, and the Houthis stormed the headquarters of its General Secretariat and abused its leaders and individuals, the Islah Party was not able to do anything nor to summon anyone to intervene.

The Al-Hazm Storm came at the request of the Yemeni state and its president, and it was not at the request of the Islah Party, which announced its position in support of the Al-Hazm Storm.

Just as the Yemeni constitution did not give the Islah Party that time the right to summon the Arab Alliance to interfere in Yemen through the Al-Hazm Storm, neither today nor tomorrow it has the authority or competence to summon anyone, not only Turkey or Qatar but even Mozambique.

Islah Party's opponents are promoting that there is an international reference linking it with Turkey, and accordingly, they are providing assumptions to incite against it by exploiting the current events in Libya.

The Yemeni parties are not concerned with what is going on in Libya, where the field of movement of these political parties and the field of their activities are within the Yemeni state. As for the issue of external relations, these parties do not take the place of the state nor exceed its function.

The attempt of any political component in the exercise of struggle tasks outside the framework of the state is a mistake, and entering into the game of axes at the regional and international levels by political parties is contrary to the law and is not approved by the Yemeni constitution.

Returning to Islah Party, we know that conditions similar to the fall of Sana'a, chaos, and the detention of the president of the state in his home, provide a favorable opportunity for projects with the transboundary reference to establish a pattern independent of power and away from the state, and to fight the state in its functions, seizing areas of the country and summon external powers that act as an agent for them to the political and military support and intervention.

But what happened is that the Islah Party clung to the Yemeni state and its legitimate president, because it is not a transboundary project, but rather a Yemeni project that believes in political action and competition through programs to serve the Yemeni citizen. It also rejects coups and carrying weapons against the state, as well as refusing to use Yemen as a Springboard to threaten its neighbors.

The Yemeni Islah Party calls on everyone to stand with the idea of a state whose absence represents the cause of war and conflict today. The struggle for the state is the real victory for Yemen and for all Yemenis.

What is happening today represents an opportunity to strengthen the position of the state and the homeland in the priorities of all Yemeni forces. Unless belonging to the homeland and the state is the basic base for all, all the flags of resistance and mobilization do not provide security and stability even to their owners.
