The website of the Iranian Leader said on Tuesday that Ali Khamenei received a delegation from the Houthis, where they handed him over a message from the militia leader Abdul Malik al-Houthi.

According to the website, the Iranian Leader has glorified the Houthis and promised them victory, and also offered his condolences on the death of Abdul Malik's brother Ibrahim al-Houthi, and praised the Houthi family.

Khamenei said: "The maintenance of Yemeni unity between all religious faiths and nationalities of Yemen requires Yemeni-Yemeni dialogues," taking in a coincidence that Yemen has one faith and one nationalism.

Khamenei also boasted of Iran's positions in its hostility to America and the West. He added: "These positions do not emerge from fanaticism, but based on reality and as a result of the actions of US and Western officials," he said.

The delegation was headed by Muhammad Abdul Salam, a spokesman for the Houthi militias, who conveyed the greetings of Abdul Malik to the Iranian leader Khamenei by saying, "The Houthis considered the leadership of Khamenei is a continuation of the leadership of the Messenger of Allah and Ali bin Abi Talib," as he put it.

It should be noted here that Iran has been supporting the Houthis with money, weapons and advisers since the militias overthrew the Yemeni legitimacy in Sanaa in 2014. Iran continues to smuggle missiles and drones to the Houthis in contravention of UN resolutions.
