Al-Houthi militia committed more than 51 thousand violations against al-Jawf's children

The Human Rights Office in al-Jawf governorate has documented 51,481 cases of violations committed by the Houthi militia against the children of the governorate during the period from 2015 to May 2019.

In a press conference attended by the Deputy of the governorate and the representative of the Arab Alliance forces in al-Jouf governorate, Engineer Abdullah al-Hashidi the director of the Human Rights Office, Abdul Hadi al-Assar, explained that the militias committed 39 cases of killing and 65 cases of injured, including 32 cases suffering from disabilities and malformations, while the militias detained 12 people under the legal age and 165 cases of recruitment for kids.

The Houthi militia has caused 6,200 cases suffering from trauma and psychological effects, deprived about 25,000 students form education and the displacement of more than 20,000 children from Directorates of the governorate, in addition to thousands of displaced children from outside the governorate.

Al-Assar pointed out that the militia deliberately targeting children and innocent civilians in al-Jouf governorate without regard to the rules of international humanitarian law, calling on the international community and international, regional and local organizations concerned with human rights to get out of the square of silence and active and urgent intervention to save childhood and stop the violations of the militias.
