The Central Bank of Yemen (CBY) in the main bank in Aden, announced on Saturday the success of the link to the bank's branch in the governorate of Marib east of the country.

In its statement issued on Saturday, the Central Bank confirmed that the technicians from the two work teams of the Central Bank in the main center in Aden and the branch of Marib were able to carry out the process of linking the system of the branch of Marib to the main headquarters of the bank in the interim capital of Aden.

In its Facebook account, the Central Bank explained that some successful test operations had been implemented to ensure the integrity of the link.

It pointed out that the linking process was carried out based on the implementation of the minutes of the agreement, which was held earlier this month between Major General Sultan al-Arada, Governor of the governorate of Marib and Hafez Mi'yad, Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen, which included linking the branch of the Central Bank in Marib to the main headquarters of the bank in the interim capital Aden.

This step comes within the seeking of the Central Bank to activate its monetary policy in all liberated governorates and its administration of the government accounts according to the law.

The leadership of the Central Bank expressed its thanks to all those who contributed and facilitated the linking process, especially the local authority in Marib governorate led by Sheikh Sultan Al-Arada, the two work teams led by Dr. Nashwan al-Qubati, Mr. Jamal Qaid al-Kamel, Director of Marib Branch and all information technology staff in the main center and the staff of the Marib branch.

The Bank pointed out that the timing of the linking process comes after the Central Bank of Yemen finished the completion of the process of contracting with Ernst & Young Company as the financial auditor of the Central Bank for the years from 2017 to 2019.
