The Deputy Head of the Information and Culture Department of the Yemeni Islah Party, Mr. Adnan al-Audaini, confirmed that threats of the Houthi militias to the abducted politician Muhammad Qahtan are a message to the UN envoy to Yemen, Martin Griffiths, that his efforts will not bear fruit.

In a statement to the "Alasimah Online", al-Audaini said that the threats of the Houthi militias to expel the family of the abducted politician Qahtan from their home prove that "Houthism is a strange behavior for the Yemeni people and proves every day that it will be nothing but an external tool that does not belong to Yemen nor its heritage nor its customs and traditions."

Pointing out that this action confirms to the world that the Houthi militias will not respond to the logic of peace.

This comes on the background of the Houthi militia threat to the abductee Muhammad Qahtan to storm the house and the expulsion of his family, including children and women from their home located in the Nahda neighborhood in the capital Sanaa.

A UN Security Council resolution called for the release of Muhammad Qahtan, the brother of Yemeni President Nasser Mansour Hadi and former Defense Minister Mahmoud al-Subaihi, but the Houthi militia has not responded to these calls and has consistently refused to allow the Red Cross to visit him.

The leader in the Yemeni Islah Party, Muhammad Qahtan, is in the prisons of the Houthi militias in the capital Sana'a since 2015, and does not allow his family, which does not know anything about him, to communicate with him.
