Mr. Adnan al-Audayni, spokesman for the Yemeni Islah Party and deputy head of the Department of Information and Culture, made fun of the claims of a Houthi militia leader that there is a rapprochement regarding opening roads.
In an article published on his official account on the X platform today, Saturday, al-Audayni stressed that rapprochement with the Islah Party is conditional on opening another road, the road of freedom for all the people.
Addressing the Houthi militia, al-Audayni said, “It is more important for you to reconcile with the Yemeni citizen who died at your hands and open for him the roads that you block to kill him with thirst in the al-Jawf desert or with siege in the city of Taiz.”
This leader claimed that they had achieved remarkable progress with the Islah Party on the issue of opening roads and releasing prisoners and detainees.
Last Thursday, Major General Sultan al-Arada, a member of the Presidential Command Council and Governor of Marib, announced the opening of the Marib-Sanaa road unilaterally, but the Houthi militia responded to that with rejection, lies, and false allegations.
The Houthi militia rejects popular demands to open roads between the governorates, which have been cut off by the militia itself and have become a real hardship for travelers, who suffer from trouble in the deserts and mountains as a result of the militia’s insistence on blocking roads in front of citizens and undermining peace efforts.
