Al-Yadumi: The continued cover-up of Qahtan makes him more superiority and deep-rootedness in the national memory

The head of the Supreme Authority of the Yemeni Islah Party, Mr. Muhammad Abdullah al-Yadumi, said that the member of the Supreme Authority, the political struggling Muhammad Qahtan, has become a national symbol and a courageous struggle figure with the national values and principles that he adopts in confronting the means of violence.

In a statement to alislah-ye.net website on the eighth anniversary of Qahtan's abduction by the Houthi militia, al-Yadumi made it clear that the national civil struggle line that Muhammad Qahtan followed represented terror for the Houthi militia, which made it resort to its barbaric methods of abducting and hiding him with many political leaders and thousands of civilians, media professionals and activists over these years.

He stressed that Muhammad Qahtan will remain a national symbol for all Yemenis, who knew him as a man of politics, dialogue and linking ties between national forces for more than two decades, and that the exclusion imposed on him by the militia will only make him more superiority and deep-rootedness in the national memory, while the page of those who abducted him will darken.

Al-Yadumi called on the United Nations and its envoy to play a positive and effective role in Qahtan's case, to work hard for his speedy release and to end his and his family's humanitarian suffering, reminding that Qahtan is one of the abducted persons included in UN Resolution 2216, which stipulated his speedy release nearly 8 years ago.

Al-Yadumi pointed out that talking about achieving peace seems strange in light of the disappearance of the political and national leaders, whose continued concealment means nothing but insistence on the continuation of the war and the approach of violence in the face of political action.

Al-Yadumi held the Houthi militia and its leaders fully responsible for Qahtan's safety and his speedy release.
